Constance D. Benson is an accomplished American actress, model, and storyteller whose journey from the runway to the screen is as extraordinary as the characters she brings to life.

A native of Savannah, Georgia, Constance began her career in entertainment as a professional runway model, appearing in publications including Seventeen Prom Magazine, Teen Prom Magazine, and CosmoGirl Prom Magazine, as well as numerous print campaigns and advertisements. In 2010, her modeling career reached a new level when she signed with Wilhelmina Models in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania. She went on to walk countless runway shows and collaborate with designers whose work has been showcased on popular television productions, including Project Runway, The Real Housewives of Atlanta, and Sorority Sisters.

But just as her modeling career was beginning to gain momentum, Constance faced a life-altering battle with Sickle Cell Disease. Forced to step away from modeling and return home to fight for her life, she ultimately underwent a groundbreaking Bone Marrow Transplant through the Stride-HCT study.

On October 30, 2012, Constance became the first woman—and, according to her account, the first person—to be cured of Sickle Cell Disease through the Stride-HCT Bone Marrow Transplant study. Rather than allowing that experience to define her limitations, she transformed it into fuel for her purpose.

Remarkably, just nine months after her transplant, Constance began pursuing her professional acting career.

Since then, she has continued to build an impressive body of work across television, film, commercials, and advocacy projects. Her television credits include Tyler Perry’s Sistas, where she portrayed Terrika, a WNBA player. Her film and series credits include Kasey in Velvicide, Jesse in Stud Life With Shay, Gwen in the award-winning short film Zapinos, and Ms. Kitt in Leading Ladies.

Her commercial and on-camera work includes a national Home Depot commercial, an AnMed Hospital commercial, and a Suicide Prevention PSA, among other projects.

Beyond the screen, Constance is a passionate advocate and motivational speaker who uses her story to encourage others to believe that their circumstances do not have to determine their destiny. She has shared her journey on stages, interviews, and platforms focused on Sickle Cell Disease, Bone Marrow Transplants, survivorship, perseverance, and empowerment, including work with organizations and institutions such as the CDC, the National Marrow Donor Program, and Emory.

Constance’s artistry is deeply connected to her life experience. She understands resilience, reinvention, vulnerability, humor, and the complexity of being human—and she brings that authenticity into every character she portrays.

Today, Constance continues to pursue her passion for acting while expanding her work as a content creator, storyteller, and entrepreneur.
